Korangi Combined Cycle Power Plant (KCCPP) is a combined cycle power plant, consisting of four gas turbines each, having a capacity of 481 MW with Make of General Electric LM 6000 aeroderivative machines, two HRSGs and two Steam Turbines of capacity 271 MW and 281 MW respectively with make of General Electric-Thermodyn Condensing machines.
Plant configuration comprises of two combined cycle blocks each having two gas turbines, one HRSG and one steam turbine. In the first phase, the station was commissioned with four gas turbines and one steam turbine during the period 2008-2009. In the second phase, the second steam turbine was installed in 2015.
The primary fuel source is Natural Gas while RLNG/ HSDO serves as the backup fuel. HSD oil is supplied through the oil tanker and stored in 2 x 8000 M3 and 1 x 1500 M3 storage tanks. The plant can transmit power through two 220KV Transmission lines to KCR Grid or through 132 KV New KTPS Grid.
