KARACHI, July 4, 2025: K-Electric (KE) announces a significant achievement in its ongoing commitment to deliver reliable power supply across Karachi. Over 1,600 customers in Block B, North Nazimabad, are now eligible for uninterrupted 24-hour electricity supply, marking the end of load-shedding that previously affected the area for up to 10 hours daily. The area is the latest to become loadshed-exempted after others such as Nusrat Bhutto Morh, Manghopir Road, North Karachi sectors including 5-C3, 5-C4, and 11-A among several others were also upgraded after the previous review in May.
This milestone was achieved through the implementation of a comprehensive technical solution designed to address the area’s high Aggregated Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses. Through strategic infrastructure improvements and with support from local area representative and customers, K-Electric successfully optimized power distribution to ensure consistent supply.
Though Karachi and its larger ambit is entirely KE’s responsibility, adding a significant new area to the already 70% load shed free zone brought in much excitement at KE. Speaking on the occasion, KE spokesperson shared, “The successful transition of Block B, North Nazimabad to 24-hour power supply demonstrates what we can accomplish when we combine technical expertise with community-focused solutions. We understand the challenges faced by our customers, and this milestone is a testament to our commitment to eliminating load-shedding across our service areas.”
K-Electric continues to invest in infrastructure upgrades and technical innovations to expand reliable power supply throughout Karachi. The company’s systematic approach to addressing AT&C losses and improving grid efficiency is part of a broader strategy to enhance service delivery across all communities.
