The Site Gas Turbine Power Station II (SGTPS) and Korangi Gas Engine Power Station II (KTGTPS) are natural gas fired combined cycle gas engines power plants comprising of thirty two INNIO Jenbacher JGS 620 E-Series gas engines at each location having nominal rating of 3 MW1; along with NG Allen Steam Turbine MC-800 of 10MW1 capacity (each site), which is fuelled through heat recovery steam generating units (32 each site).
The plants are connected to KE’s 132KV transmission system can be operated both in simple cycle and combined cycle, using either natural gas and RLNG. Both plants. SGTPS is located at S.I.T.E Industrial Area, whereas KTGTPS is located at Korangi Industrial Area.
Both stations were completed in a record time in 2009 and received prestigious accolades from the Asian Power Awards 2009 for ‘Power Plant of the Year’ and ‘Best Fast Track Power Project’ in Asia.
